About the Role

The Project Assurance Officer sits within Delivery Assurance team of the Portfolio Management Office and is responsible for oversight and assurance of projects within allocated portfolio(s). The role partners with project teams to support the Portfolio Assurance branch in guiding and supporting key stakeholders to align to the standard for project delivery across the Department through the provision of quality project delivery insights, analytics and advice.

Position Outcomes 

  • Projects Assurance – provide accurate and timely advice to the Portfolio Assurance leadership team and key stakeholders to ensure effective project controls are in place. Ensure assurance oversight across the project portfolio through the delivery of regular project assurance reviews and health checks.
  • Proactive monitoring – monitor the key project dimensions of scope, quality, cost schedule, risk and issues to ensure adherence to project management and governance requirements and escalate matters as required to ensure resolution.
  • Quality Project Information – Prepare reports and advice for stakeholders and project delivery teams with insights, trend analysis about project and portfolio performance to ensure that project information is accurate, timely and meets quality criteria for scope; schedule; cost; risk and project outcomes.

Ability to utilise advanced excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts is required.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Qualification or experience in a project management role or equivalent.
