    About the Role

CFA is seeking a Project Installation Officer to implement the installation of fixed radios at CFA facilities across Victoria as part of the Radio Replacement Program. This is an important position and requires robust technical expertise. It provides an opportunity to work independently and provide proactive, efficient technical support to the program.

In this role, you will work at the helm of the installation and replacement of fixed radios at CFA facilities across Victoria. Your responsibilities will extend to organising travel logistics, scheduling appointments and managing equipment. Employing effective control tools is essential to ensuring project success, while program compliance and progress monitoring are key facets of your role. You will take the lead in designing and sourcing specialised radio housings for diverse applications.

Your expertise will be pivotal in providing technical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders and crafting specialised technical reports when necessary. Troubleshooting issues during installations, refining processes, and meticulous record management are all part of the job. Building strong working relationships with various stakeholders, including volunteers and District staff, and deciphering regulations for safe and efficient radio installations is also important.

This position does involve significant State-wide travel and overnight stays. The successful candidate will have access to a CFA pool car for this purpose.

    About You:

    • Experience in technical radio installations within a large and complex organisation, including the provision of technical advice.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision and direction and as part of a team, contributing to the achievement of the team's objectives and goals.
    • Ability to compile pre and post installation reports, including raising and closing issues as identified.
    • Ability to effectively problem solve technical issues within scope of the program deliverables.
