An exciting opportunity is available for a Project Manager with Service Victoria. 
 
Within Service Victoria, Project Managers coordinate the risk, quality, and progress of projects by ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope. 
The successful candidate will possess one or more IT knowledge/skills in application processes, methodologies, standards, products, and frameworks and understands enterprise IT environments, infrastructure, and systems. They will have knowledge and experience with Branding and Thought Leadership, Information Management Analysis and Solution design, Data Analysis and Solution Architecture. 
The demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across a range of media types, using a range of styles to suit different audiences both technical and non-technical. They understand and embrace various ways of working and are agile in approaches to collaboration and delivery of services. 
The Project Manager works under broad direction and is accountable for exercising a considerable degree of independence and performs a leadership role. The Project Manager is accountable for planning, co-ordinating and delivering detailed, complex, technical or sensitive projects that impact on strategic or operational outcomes. They will manage key stakeholder relationships, resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes.

What a Project Manager does at Service Victoria: 
  • Manage a diverse set of resources to deliver IT programs; develop strategies and evaluate project and business outcomes 
  • Provide expert strategic and technical advice and deliver results with a significant degree of independence within a framework of agency policies, priorities, objectives, and strategy 
  • Provide authoritative and expert advice to ensure products are delivered in line with contract requirements and project management methodologies 
  • Lead and direct high-level research activities to provide advice on complex issues and project work that requires a strong technical background, a high degree of originality and independent judgment in relation to information technology projects 
  • Represent the agency at an authoritative level on complex and/or technical issues with external practitioners, industry representatives and government agencies 
  • Develop and lead the implementation of strategies and devise solutions to address complex IT project management risks and problems which may not have established precedents or guidelines, to ensure the achievement of planned business outcomes 
  • Oversee the coordination of a series of interrelated IT projects and activities, assess the impacts of programs and project activities on the agency's operations and provide recommendations to senior executives and other stakeholders 
  • Provide leadership and direction and ensure a high level of accuracy, consistency, and integration across business in terms of advice provided or functions managed  
 
On your first day you'll have to:
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex and high-profile projects in a customer led and technology and digitally driven environment.
  • Proven ability to lead the design and delivery of complex projects within an agile development environment.
  • Proven ability to adhere to required governance and assurance processes and practices within complex and highly regulated environments.
  • Manages and monitors the impact of program or project risks and issues with a vested interest.
  • Uses available information and exercises good judgement to make timely and well-informed decisions.
 
Desired Qualifications  
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded   
  • Project Management certification (preferred), e.g. PMP, Prince2
