About us 

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.  

About the role 

The role will manage the uplift of DGS contact centre capability, which involves the consolidation of seven separate contact centres into one functional team, along with the tools, technology and processes to support them .This work will support the team to transition to a single telephony platform, a new operating model, and will create new pathways for Victorians to access government, driving improved customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead and manage the Contact Centre Uplift project using appropriate project management methodologies, and effectively manage scope, budget, timelines, and resources
  • Compile and develop high quality project documentation including plans, briefs, reports and internal communications. Initiate the accompanying information management protocol and maintenance of accurate data
  • Implement and manage regular reporting on project progress against milestones, project expenditure and emerging issues and risks.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing technology or large-scale transformation projects in a large scale organisation. Ideally in a contact centre context.
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve problems and be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated understanding contact centre technology such as telephony platforms, systems of record and/or CRM systems, along with the policies, procedures and processes that support implementation in a government setting

Mandatory requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management or significant experience in a similar role.
