DJCS Emergency Management has a unique opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic technical project manager to take on a key role within its EM Technology business unit.

Working in a highly skilled project management team, the Project Manager, DRUP2 (Digital Radio Upgrade Program Stage 2) is primarily responsible for leading, managing and delivering key aspects of this vital program which will provide the emergency services with improved radio communications capability. DRUP2 will procure and deploy new radio terminals, mobile applications, vehicle communication solutions, radio network uplifts and service improvements to emergency service organisations as well as uplift existing service provider communication contracts beyond their current services term. This role will require someone with exceptional skills and experience across the full project management life-cycle, particularly in large scale technology projects with experience managing technology-based service providers/vendors.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead, manage and deliver projects within the State's DRUP2 and other technology initiatives as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Manage service providers/vendors, including managing the review and approval of service provider/vendor project and technical deliverables.
  • Manage program control groups, including development and presentation of material.
  • Manage program registers, plans, schedules and delivery compliance.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor the status of all project artefacts (project registers, project plans, negotiation plans, probity plans etc).
  • Maintain high quality communication with key stakeholders. Ensure stakeholders are engaged and aware of any upcoming scheduled activities related to the planning, negotiation, design, testing, acceptance and deployment of new radio terminals, new technologies and supporting networks.
  • Direct, liaise and negotiate with stakeholders (emergency service organisations, State advisors, State service providers/vendors, other State Government Departments) as required to ensure assigned tasks are completed and issues resolved.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ‘hands on' experience in managing and delivering the implementation of large-scale technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing service providers/vendors and government stakeholders for the delivery of multi-million communication technology (hardware, software, networks) and related program/project and technical artefacts, including managing the review and approval of service provider/vendor project and technical deliverables.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project/program delivery including financial and status reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project/program delivery including financial and status reporting as well as proficiency in using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emergency operational communications and/or radio communications (will be highly regarded).
