About the Role
*This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2026* 


The Project Officer role will work as part of a team dedicated to the planning and development of the East Werribee Precinct. With over 610 Ha of government land, the role will facilitate development that will transform Wyndham and Melbourne’s western corridor to Geelong. 

The role will form part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be directly involved in the planning and development for East Werribee. The role will require well-rounded project support and technical experience, with a strong understanding of land-use planning, urban development, infrastructure delivery and commercial industry drivers.

The role will be involved in project administration and research to assist the Manager and Senior Project Officers with the coordination with project partners and stakeholders, preparation of technical documents for key projects and provide support to the preparation and implementation of a government endorsed Development Strategy.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities 

 

 

  • Provide support to the team in the delivery of whole-of-government coordination activities for the East Werribee Precinct. May include some support for other state significant precincts.
  • Contribute to the achievement of economic and social objectives for Precincts through supporting the realisation of the project vision and effective project delivery.
  • Support the development and maintenance of effective internal and external relationships with project partners, government agencies, local councils and businesses.
  • Assist with the conveyance of complex concepts and information, both written and verbal, to internal and external stakeholders, including executive management and ministerial offices.
  • Contribute to exemplary governance through supporting effective project management and secretariat support for project committees.

 

To be successful in this role you will be highly skilled in project delivery, capable of defining tasks and coordinating others to meet objectives while monitoring progress and taking necessary corrective actions. You will demonstrate strong foundational abilities in critical thinking and problem-solving by using established guidelines or conducting research when needed. Additionally, you will effectively manage stakeholder relationships by being responsive, proactive, and ensuring consistent communication on developments. Excellent communication skills will be essential, allowing you to present information clearly, concisely, and in a way that engages and informs your audience.

 

On a personal level you will be driven by outcomes, working purposefully within the team while helping others understand the broader strategic goals of the organisation. You will foster a sense of purpose by connecting the team's efforts to the wider impact on the community. Additionally, you will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, responding swiftly and comfortably to changing priorities, and collaborating effectively with teams beyond your immediate organisation.

 

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory 

 

  • An appropriate qualification in property, planning, engineering, law, business or a related field.
