Working in a friendly and supportive workshop environment, the Project Officer – Equipment Development and Maintenance delivers high quality maintenance, repair and service of equipment and related supplies to regions for the management of fire preparedness, prevention and response activities.

A hands-on role, the workshop creates custom-designed and purpose-built parts such as special nozzles for filling drip torches, slip-on units for the Landcruiser fleet and protective cage brackets for G-Wagon exhaust pipes. Experience firsthand the technology and craftsmanship that go into creating these vital components.

This role involves the management of relevant systems, technologies and databases in the Logistics Unit within the Capability and Logistics Branch of the Bushfire and Forest Services Group (BFS), which plays a critical role in the delivery of land and natural resource management for Victorians and protection against and management of fires and emergencies.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Victorian Driver's Licence
  • Fitter & Turner or similar Metal Trade qualification
  • Forklift Licence to perform High Risk Work

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Altona North.
