The Scientific & Pest Animals Licensing team regulates standards for animals used for research and teaching and privately owned exotic pest animals. The Project Officer, Licensing is responsible for performing licensing functions under Part 3 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986; and for providing advice to the decision maker with respect to applications to grant, renew, and vary licenses. The Project Officer, Licensing will lead stakeholder communications to a consistently high standard. This includes exercising good judgement in preparing responses to enquiries received by the team and participating in business improvement project activities.
The Project Officer, Licensing reports into the Manager, Scientific & Pest Animals Licensing. The role is a job-share arrangement and works closely with fellow part-time officer. With an eye for detail and a systematic approach, you will use your excellent communication skills to facilitate compliance and support best practice. The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
This is a part time fixed term (0.6 FTE) position available until 30 May 2025. The work location for this position is Attwood with hybrid work arrangements available.
