Ambulance Victoria's (AV) mission is to improve the health of our community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services. A new opportunity is now available in AV's People and Culture Division, for two Psychologists to provide support to the Principal Psychologist in the provision of clinical services and support programs, development of strategic initiatives and policy and project implementation to support evidence based clinical outcomes for AV employees, first responders, and their families. There are two roles available. One is Permanent Part time 0.4 FTE (2 days a week) and the other is a fixed term contract (0.6 FTE – 3 days a week) until the 16th July 2023.
About the role
Reporting to the Principal Psychologist, these key roles will be responsible for analysing information, research and data to inform the ongoing focus on early intervention and preventative programs. The roles will also provide authoritative clinical advice, deliver training and psychological assessments, crisis interventions and critical incident support where required.
Working closely with the Victorian Ambulance Clinicians Unit (VACU), Peer Support, and Chaplaincy teams, the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):
About you
The successful applicant will be a registered psychologist with a demonstrated high level of knowledge, skill and experience in trauma informed practice, psychological assessment, counselling, and crisis intervention. Harnessing their exceptional communication and relationship building skills, they will be proactive in providing advice and consulting with managers and staff on managing psychological health issues in the workplace.
With the foresight to make effective and informed decisions, problem solve and prioritise work in high pressure situations, the successful applicant will also possess demonstrated experience in delivering a high level of customer service in complex and dynamic operational organisations.
Applicants will possess advanced computer skills and will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and relevant software applications.
Finally, candidates must be required to be available outside of ordinary working hours in order to frequently provide advice, support or intervene and manage emergency or time critical incidents or issues. They must also possess a current Victorian Driver's License and be prepared to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria as required.
This position is graded at AV5, the salary range is $122,236 - $144,502 (Pro-Rata) +10.5% Super. Salary on commencement is offered at the bottom of AV grade.
