Psychology Registrar Rotation Program- Work as a psychologist while being supported to attain your area of practice endorsement

About the Role

This is an exciting program for new graduate psychologists who have completed post-graduate training in clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, counselling psychology, educational and developmental psychology, forensic psychology or health psychology. The two year positions will support your transition from study to the workforce and provide psychological work, supervision and professional development so that you can undertake a registrar program for area of practice endorsement.

During the two year position, you will be working in four different services within the acute medical, subacute medical and community/outpatient programs. You will have the opportunity to work with patients and clients across the life span and in various settings throughout the network (other than the mental program). You will be expected to perform the duties of a fully registered psychologist, including providing psychological assessment and treatment as is appropriate for the service.

  • Reduced clinical caseloads
  • Four hours per week of protected learning time for individual and group supervision and self-directed learning

  • Support to develop wellness and resilience strategies.

Specific qualifications required:

  • Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in Clinical, Neuropsychology, Counselling, Educational and Developmental, Forensic or Health Psychology
  • Eligibility to enrol in the Clinical, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling, Educational and Developmental, Forensic or Health Psychology Registrar Program under PsyBA

As part of the Registrar Rotation Program, psychologists are expected to:

  • Engage in supervision, education and professional development opportunities.
  • Undertake a registrar program for area of practice endorsement
  • Participate in evaluation of the Registrar Rotation Program.
