  • Would you like to play an exciting role in forest recovery following recent severe storms?
  • Are you an experienced operations manager who likes to work in dynamic environments?
  • Your contribution will enable the successful recovery of large forested and park areas across the Wombat Macedon area in Central Victoria. The successful candidate will support the oversight of the operational activities on public land within the impacted Wombat-Macedon area.

The Recovery Operations Manager will support the District Manager and Regional Recovery Manager in the oversight of the operational activities on public land within the impacted Wombat-Macedon area. The position is responsible for operational activities including roading, fencing and rehabilitation works are delivered within required timeframes. The position will coordinate across the Midlands and Murray Goldfields districts and with partner agencies such as Parks Victoria and VicForest. The position will ensure compliance with contract management and procurement processes as part of the recovery program.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in natural resource management, with good knowledge of road maintenance and repair, and forest management.
  • An understanding of relevant local knowledge and the communities in the Grampians region is desirable.
  • Current manual Victorian driver's licence. (Mandatory)
  • An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent. (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of projects on public land.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on complex projects with multiple partners/stakeholders.
  • Successfully pass a DELWP fire-fighter medical and task-based assessment to the standard appropriate to the relevant fire role. (Mandatory)

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022. The location of this position is negotiable within the Grampians Region.
