About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Ngootyoong Prevention and Recovery Centre (Ngootyoong PARC) is seeking a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Grade 4). This role is responsible for applying clinical knowledge and expertise to the assessment, delivery of evidence based treatment and interventions to consumers with complex mental health needs, and their families and carers. You will be required to work on a rotating 7-day week roster, which includes morning, evening, night and weekend shifts.

Ngootyoong PARC offers recovery oriented treatment for people with, or at risk of developing, serious mental illness in a home-like setting. PARC is a supported recovery orientated mental health residential facility which provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or who are in the early stages of their recovery and would benefit from short term (up to 28 days) or medium term (less than 6 month) intensive treatment to strengthen their biological, psychological and social well-being.  A two week day program is also offered.

Position Overview

  • Permanent part-time (56 hours per fortnight) position available but will consider part time/job share for the right candidate. Please state your preferred hours in your cover letter.

This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).

As a motivated RPN holding post graduate qualifications, you will have demonstrated experience and skills in delivering a broad range of psychiatric, recovery oriented care and services to patients in a mental health environment, whether in an inpatient or community setting.
