Our Medical Services at Western Health are currently seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our team.  Medical Services at Western Health offers a wide range of services including General Medicine, Gastroenterology, Mental Health and Special Medicine (Neurology, Stroke, Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology and Dermatology). Our Medical Services operates at a variety of sites and is currently offering the following exciting opportunities.

The below selection criteria applies to all vacancies listed:

• Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing


• Registration with AHPRA


• Current registration with AHPRA and NMBA


• Minimum 12 months working experience within an Australian hospital setting (not including placements)


• Demonstrate the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team


• A commitment to high quality and ongoing to maintain a culture of patient centred care.


• Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to work a rotating roster


• Possess excellent clinical skills

Registered Nurse – 2A – Acute Aged Care

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, motivated, caring and innovative Registered nurse who has a strong interest in a role in an integrated Acute Aged Care Unit.

Ward 2A which is located at Sunshine Hospital operates 36 beds for patients requiring acute aged care.  The unit operates an inter professional practice model in partnership with geriatric medicine, nursing, allied health, ancillary services and our volunteer team.  2A has a strong interface with the Emergency Department and many specialty areas.

If you have experience in caring for elderly patients with multi morbidity, frailty and/or disability that benefit from a multidisciplinary team approach to their care.  You will have a passion to care for older people and people with complex care needs and demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of an inter professional health care team.

If you are a dynamic nursing professional with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care than this position could be for you.

Registered Nurse – Bank

Bank nurses at Western Health are managed by the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) and are able to work across a variety of wards at Western Health. Bank nurses are required to be available a minimum of one shift a fortnight and are able to pick up shift vacancies as they arise. Shift vacancies are sent out by our allocations team and work opportunities and shift offers will depend on the organisations vacancies each day. Working on Bank provides nurses a great opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills and to experience a variety of different work places.

• Able to commit to a minimum of one shift a fortnight


• Willing to work across a variety of clinical settings and wards at Western Health
