About Operating Theatre Services (Perioperative) at Monash Children's Hospital


Our Operating Suite located at within a new purpose-built facility, featuring state of the art equipment within its four theatres & procedure room providing services to 4,000 patients a year!  Our areas of focus include foetal consultation, congenital anomalies, solid tumours of childhood, chest & chest wall conditions, head and neck conditions minimally invasive surgery and acute surgical care, however we also provide outpatient care and elective surgical care.  

It is a fast-paced busy environment, where compassionate care for our young patients is our number one priority.


About the Role


We have availability for Registered Nurses within the Perioperative - Anaesthetics/Recovery team. Our opportunities are  Permanent, Full Time or Part Time positions within our 10 hour shift roster across Monday to Friday. You will work across General Surgery, ENT, Neuro and Plastics.


Seeking to grow our dedicated & knowledgeable team, we are looking for you to bring demonstrated skills and experience within a paediatric capacity either from ward or theatre based clinical skills to look after our special patients.

Taking a team focus on delivery of care, our primary focus is on a patient’s safe journey through theatre. We have a strong education focus and encourage staff to further develop their skills, along with being a part of a friendly and social environment to work in.


We work as a close-knit team with strong value to collaboration, providing support to the wider multi-disciplinary team of our high standard of safety and patient engagement through their journey with us.

What you need:



  • current AHPRA registration

  • proven clinical experience within a Theatre environment

  • Qualification of Post Graduate studies within this specialist area (desirable, but not essential)

  • Paediatric nursing experience (desirable)

  • Current Employee working with Children Check

  • Full working rights within Australia
