Paediatric Short Stay Unit – Registered Nurse – Angliss Hospital Emergency Department

The Angliss Hospital Short Stay Unit has an eight bed zone dedicated to the management of children needing four to twenty-four hours of hospital care.
Nestled in the valley below the Dandenong Ranges the facility has retained that community hospital culture whilst providing high level evidenced based acute care. Angliss Emergency Department care's for around 130 presentations a day, 25% are paediatric patients. While many children are discharged home from ED after review some are transferred to the Short Stay Unit for a brief inpatient admission.
Typical admissions include acute respiratory illness, dehydration, head injuries and other minor trauma, ENT pathologies, GIT pathologies, allergy recovery, adolescent mental health and unsettled infants.
Many of our staff work across both ED and the Paediatric Short Stay Unit however we are looking to include dedicated paediatric nurses into the Short Stay team.
