The peri-anaesthetic nurse at The Royal Melbourne Hospital support a busy 16 theatre operating suite, recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.

This is a varied role that requires a switched-on nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working in a major metropolitan operating suite and is willing to work hard to provide excellent nursing care.

The role involves the provision of anaesthetics assistance to patients undergoing all types of major surgery and the post-operative recovery of patients.

Your new role:

• Provide anaesthetics assistance to patients undergoing all types of major surgery and the post-operative recovery of patients


• Support a busy 16 theatre operating suite, recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.


• Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations


• Actively and positively contribute to a high functioning multidisciplinary Perioperative nursing team.

About you:

• 3 years’ experience in Peri-anaesthetic and/or Recovery Nursing.


• Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing is highly desirable


• Demonstrated high clinical standards in patient assessment.


• Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations.
