About the Role:

South West Healthcare's Camperdown Mental Health and Wellbeing Team is looking for a committed and dynamic Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join their team. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you will support consumers with severe and persistent mental illness living within the local community. The role involves providing clinical and non-clinical treatment as part of short and long-term case management in a recovery-oriented model of care. Service provision is recovery-oriented and trauma-informed, utilising natural and existing community supports as required in the South West region.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness within the local community.
  • Deliver clinical and non-clinical treatment as part of short and long-term case management.
  • Work within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed model of care.
  • Utilize natural and existing community supports as required.
  • Ensure regular communication and the flow of information with other clinical staff, professionals, families, and stakeholder groups.

 Key Requirements:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent skills and broad experience in mental health clinical services.
  • Proven ability to work within a team-based multi-disciplinary model.
  • Working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practices, trauma-informed care, current mental health trends, legislation, and relevant policy directions.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality and remaining customer focused.
  • Post-graduate qualifications (or working towards these) are desirable.
