Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) Monash Health

We are looking for RUSONs (Undergraduate Nursing Students 2nd year and above) to support the nursing team in the delivery of safe, effective care. You will be an integral part of our workforce during the ongoing management of COVID normal which includes the vaccination roll out. The RUSON works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife at all times, within their level of education and assessed competencies and also under clearly defined role parameters.

About You:

  • Currently enrolled to undertake undergraduate nursing study and who at commencement, has successfully completed not less than 12 months of the Bachelor of Nursing Degree, the Nursing and Midwifery Double degree, or the Master of Nursing (that will lead to registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse)

  • Be able to provide a transcript of evidence of successful completion of first-year undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing/Masters of Nursing qualification from an Australian University.

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including relationship building, team cooperation, and conflict resolution.

  • Have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with a wide range of people, including co-workers, health professionals, residents, patients and family members

  • Caring, pro-active, engaging manner with a willingness to learn and develop new skills

  • Ability to work AM and PM shifts across 7 days rotating roster (around clinical placements)

  • Current Fit2Work and Working With Children Check
