Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic  Radiology registrar to join our Radiology Department from September 2022.

Details of Department

The department is equipped with a full range of state-of-the-art imaging equipment including multi-slice CT, MRI and high-resolution ultrasound equipment. There is a wide range of interventional procedures performed, particularly in hepatobiliary and oncology intervention.

The main department is located on Levels 1 and 2 of the Lance Townsend Building, Austin Hospital. The department medical staff comprises 20 EFT of Staff Radiologists (Diagnostic, Interventional and Neurointerventional Specialists) and 19 Radiology Registrars and 4.5 Fellows.

The Austin Hospital department includes three MRI machines, two CTs, 3 Angiography suites, 1 Fluoroscopy suite and six Ultrasound units.

The Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital department provides mostly outpatient services. It consists of two CT machines, Fluoroscopy, Mammography and 5 Ultrasound rooms.

Details of position/position requirements

  • Fixed Term Full time position from September 2022 (negotiable) to 4 February 2024

  • Opened to Radiology registrars Year 2 - Year 6 and after

  • Suitable to Registrars who are eligible to enter phase 2 or 3 of the Clinical Radiology Training Program by February 2023. At minimum, applicants must have at least completed their Clinical Radiology Phase 1 RANZCR Examinations

  • Hold General Medical Registration in Australia
