Using an evidence base to determine how we respond to the community is a key component of the Ambulance Victoria Clinical Response Model.

About the role

Sitting in the Centre for Research and Evaluation, the position reports to a Senior Research Fellow with the primary focus of supporting the ongoing improvement of the Ambulance Victoria Clinical Response Model. This is a part time (0.6 FTE) permanent position currently based in Blackburn North business centre.

 In this role you will be integral to the functions of the Centre for Research and Evaluation workstreams which will include but are not limited to:

  • Collecting, cleaning, and analysing large, linked data sets to develop actionable insights and analysis
  • Providing data and expertise and work as part of the Clinical Response Model Improvement workstream
  • Presenting data on patient profiles and pathways to internal stakeholders
  • Undertaking literature reviews and environmental scans as required

About you

To be successful in this role you will hold appropriate Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and will need to demonstrate the following.

  • Strong understanding of the health system, background, and qualifications in a relevant health profession highly desired
  • Experience in research governance and ethical requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of data extracts, data quality control and analysis of complex data sets
  • Knowledge and experience using relevant software tools (e.g., statistical packages, database tools)
  • Experience working with linked health data sets is highly desirable

AV has introduced salary bands, and this position is graded at AV3. The AV grade salary range for an AV3 position is $77,620 to $91,853 (pro rata) plus 10% superannuation. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.

The successful candidate will be required to make a Statutory Declaration and undertake an Australian National Criminal Check in conjunction with other pre-employment checks.
