Registered Nurse - Critical Care Student


Intensive Care Unit/Emergency Department


RN Grade 2 (YP3 - YP11)


Fixed Term Part Time


(48 - 64 hours per fortnight)



We are seeking applications from Registered Nurses, with a minimum of 12 months recent acute care experience, to undertake Masters (or Post Graduate Certificate) in Critical Care Nursing (ICU or ED Stream).


These temporary part time positions are from February 2022 andinclude working a rotating 7 day, 24 hour roster. This role rotates between our Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department and is delivered in collaboration with Deakin University, under the guidance of the WHCG Critical Care Educator and Emergency Critical Care Educator.The successful applicant will be employed for the 12 month duration of course, with the opportunity for ongoing employment following the successful completion of the course.



Key Selection Criteria include:


Essential:



  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

  • Enrolment in Deakin University Master of Nursing Practice (Critical Care)

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in the use of information technology

  • Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care

  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement

  • Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development


Desirable:



  • At least one year Registered Nurse experience preferred (not essential)

  • Acute clinical skills relevant to area

  • Have  a desire and passion to forge a career in Critical Care or Emergency Nursing
