About the Division
The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) leads digital transformation for the department and Victorian government schools. IMTD manages Victoria's largest tech network, serving 750,000 users. It innovates by implementing cloud solutions (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS), and software (SaaS) with a focus on user experience, security, and integration, using agile practices.
About the Role
The Principal Architect II is the driving force behind the scenes, making sure our department's plans and goals become a reality. They're the ones who come up with cool ideas, evaluate programs, and navigate difficult strategic issues. What's impressive is how they connect with people - the Principal Architect can break down complex concepts into everyday language and handle sensitive information with care. They're not just leaders; they set the bar for excellence and keep us on track with big projects. Their deep understanding of our department's inner workings allows them to introduce innovative ideas and keep things running smoothly while making sure we meet our deadlines and maintain quality.
The ideal candidate will prioritise platform design for maintainability and future enhancements by adhering to best practices, modular design, and will also leave clear documentation. They will also offer architecture guidance and support in areas such as database architecture, data storage, integration, scalability, performance, and extensibility. Additionally, they will establish strategic platform design support by developing an org strategy and a decision matrix tree involving multi-org approaches.
This role plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the Salesforce platform architecture. This position involves strategic planning, technical leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the platform meets business objectives and supports scalable and reliable operations.
