Monash Health SECASA is seeking a Counsellor/Advocate (Social Worker Grade 2) at the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA). This role may work across two sites, in  our East Bentleigh and St. Kilda counselling team, on 4 days.

If you are a qualified Social Worker, this is a unique opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded service, where you will work therapeutically in a community setting with victim survivors of sexual assault and/or family violence.

About the Role:

• Provide therapeutic interventions for child and adults who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence, including individual counselling, advocacy, and group work


• Provide crisis support for people who have recently experienced sexual assault


• Conduct risk assessments, and work collaboratively with clients and key agencies to enhance safety


• Provision of community and professional education

About You:

• Are you experienced in working with complex trauma, using frameworks of intersectionality, gender equality and a human rights based approach


• Do you have a thorough understanding of the personal and political dynamics of sexual assault and family violence?


• Are you an excellent communicator, committed to collaborative work with key agencies to enhance safety and wellbeing for victim survivors, and value contributing to a resilient team.


• Are you passionate about delivering high-quality counselling and advocacy for people who have experienced sexual assault and family violence.
