We are Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The services provided by these industries are among the most important contributors to the social and economic wellbeing of all Victorians.

Our functions include:

  • making regulatory decisions with respect to certain prescribed industries including making price determinations, licensing, customer protection and resolving access disputes
  • undertaking reviews and providing advice to ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters
  • administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Advisor to join our team.

The position is in the ESC's Energy Division, which is responsible for supporting the commission regulate Victorian electricity and gas businesses. The Energy Division's key role is to support an innovative and efficient energy market and to ensure better performance from our energy companies.

The Compliance team is responsible for compliance and monitoring activities including developing compliance strategies, setting compliance priorities, undertaking compliance audits, triaging compliance matters, producing guidance on how to comply with energy code obligations, clarifying standards through wrongful disconnection referrals, education and engagement to achieve voluntary compliance by the Victorian energy sector.

The Senior Adviser, Compliance is responsible for ongoing compliance monitoring and breach assessments in line with the commission's compliance and enforcement priorities.

To be successful, you will have experience in understanding compliance processes and procedure within the energy sector. You will have strong leadership and high level communication skills. You will also have the ability to forge productive relationships with key stakeholders.
