Senior Mental Health Clinician




  • An opportunity to work in an expanding growth corridor of metropolitan Melbourne

  • Hold a small case load, focusing on one of our core functions – acute care, intake or intensive extended care

  • Leadership and support, building capacity and demonstration of advanced clinical skills in the community are essential for this position




Mid West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS) provides a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Melton, Brimbank and parts of Hume (Sunbury/Bulla).



The team is comprised of enthusiastic and passionate clinicians (nursing, occupational therapy, social work, psychology and medical) who strive to promote mental health and wellbeing for our registered consumers while supporting their carers

Your new role:



  • Lead with kindness, role modelling open communication and a desire to support and enhance clinical care across the team  

  • Demonstrate your extensive experience working as a mental health clinician within a multidisciplinary care team in a community setting

  • Pro-actively contribute to innovative service planning and development 

  • Combines administrative duties and direct clinical work, therefore effective organisational skills are a must




About you:



  • Strong commitment to consumer-focused service delivery

  • Passionate about improving outcomes for people with a mental illness

  • Extensive experience in assessment/treatment of people with mental illness / psychiatric disability

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • High level awareness of legislation governing mental health practice
