Your new role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced media and communication professional to join our Communication team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working as part of a multidisciplined team, and reporting to the Manager - Communication, the Senior Communication Officer - Media will play a pivotal role in delivering IBAC's media function and producing high-quality communication advice and services/products.

Duties include:

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of effective communications to support work such as the quarterly newsletter, proactive/reactive media responses, investigative reports, engagement activities, public hearings and a broad range of other activities.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure the delivery of clear, concise and accessible communication services and products.
  • Identify proactive communication and media plans to promote IBAC's role to build a corruption-resistant Victoria.
  • Provide internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, with sound, relevant, accurate and timely advice on communication issues and media relations.
  • Manage the design and delivery of communication strategies and associated support materials utilising a well-developed understanding of strategic communications.
  • Influence negotiations with external suppliers of major services such as media monitoring.

Our requirements / Your skill set

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, or related discipline is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to write content for high quality communication materials.
  • Demonstrated work experience in communications, marketing, media or related field.

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
