Can you tell me more about what you do at VLSB+C?

Great question! We're really proud of the work we do. We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.

Okay, and what role are you recruiting for?

We're looking for a Senior Communications Adviser in the Consumer Communications team. They will be responsible for the development and delivery of impactful communications to consumers of legal services in Victoria.

This is getting interesting, what type of person are you looking for?

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications / Media / Journalism / Public Relations and at least 10 years' experience in a communications role is essential.
  • Knowledge of customer experience methodology, understanding of human centred design and completion of the IAP2 certificate in engagement is desirable.
  • Significant experience in public and/or community strategic communications and stakeholder management with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the implementation of high-quality strategies in these areas.
  • Knowledge and experience in writing in plain language.
  • Strong digital communications skillset including Microsoft 365, social media platforms and Google Analytics.
