Job Description
Your New Role
The Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor is a key member of the Employee Engagement team within the broader Corporate Affairs and Engagement Group at Development Victoria.
Reporting to the Manager, Employee Engagement, this role is primarily responsible for driving effective communications to engage employees in our business transformation. The advisor will also support the design and implementation of the broader internal communications strategy across the business.
As transformation projects come to life, you'll play a pivotal role in connecting employees to our strategic priorities and fostering an engaged workforce.
There is an opportunity to also lead the communications roll-out of Development Victoria’s Intranet project as part of the transformation program of work, so experience in project management and digital improvement programs will be highly valued.
Core Accountabilities
- Work collaboratively with the Manager, Employee Engagement, Director Transformation, Executives and Senior Leadership Team to craft compelling content and messaging to support the transformation agenda.
- Build organisational-wide engagement with Development Victoria’s Transformation program and its key drivers through targeted communications plans and tactics.
- Drive a culture of active engagement and consultation with teams across business through meaningful and consistent communications to ensure the transformation program’s ongoing currency.
- Develop a forward schedule of communications and activities.
- Provide advice to the Transformation team on communications matters - identifying and escalating any issues or concerns.
- Lead the communications deliverables and roll out of projects that form part of the transformation program of work.
- Work with the Employee Engagement team on organisational-wide initiatives to improve the employee experience at Development Victoria, including business-as-usual communications support.
- Be an active member of the broader Corporate Affairs & Engagement team to design and implement best practice employee communications and engagement strategies.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
- Bachelor or postgraduate degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or relevant discipline.
- Significant experience independently managing and providing strategic advice on corporate and internal communications.
- Experience in change communications and engagement within complex environments either in projects or operational change.
- Experience in the design and implementation of communications strategies and content in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Strong understanding of communications channel strategies and audience segmentation.
- Exceptional skills in listening, interpreting and crafting high-quality communications across various mediums, including speech and copywriting for executives.
- Experience in project management and digital improvements will be highly valued.
- (Desirable) Experience in leading consultation with internal audiences.
