The Opportunity

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a confident and self-starting finance professional to join VicGrid as it transitions to an Administrative Office and play a critical role in establishing its core finance practices.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will provide support and advice to a range of stakeholders within VicGrid informing their strategic and operational decision making, and in the effective management of their budgets. This role will be responsible for managing and monitoring funding, strategic planning, reporting and budget activities.

As the Finance function is established, this role will be the key contact and  work collaboratively with DEECA Corporate Finance ensuring VicGrid's practices are compliant Victorian Government financial policies and processes.

What you will deliver

• Establish financial practices and process for VicGrid in accordance with DEECA and Victorian Government policies and procedures, this includes establishing reporting processes.
• Partnering and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, drive annual business planning budgeting across VicGrid.
• Undertake day to day budget monitoring across, proactively addressing issues, mitigating risk and appropriately phase, load and monitor budgets across the year.

What you will bring

• Financial management experience including financial planning and analysis of operational performance to inform decisions
• Experience in a business partnering and management accounting role in a complex organisation
• A willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Well developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, engaging with people across all levels of VicGrid and within DEECA
• Enthusiasm for leading work autonomously, with the confidence to reach out to DEECA networks as required.

A finance or business degree is a mandatory requirement for this role, and a CA/CPA qualification is highly desirable.
