Senior Inspector – Petroleum (Gippsland)

  • $98,396 - $119,052 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term – Until 30 October 2020
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Traralgon

The position of Senior Inspector – Petroleum (Gippsland) forms a part of the Resources branch within the Rural and Regional Development Victoria group.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Gippsland, Mine Fire and Emergency, you will regulate petroleum operations in the region, ensuring activities undertaken are compliant with legislations and approvals through education and enforcement.

The Senior Inspector - Petroleum carries out the functions of an Inspector as delegated or assigned under all acts regulated by Earth Resources Regulation. The Senior Inspector - Petroleum must hold the powers of an Inspector within the following acts:

  • Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2010
  • Greenhouse Gas Geological Sequestration Act 2008
  • Petroleum Act 1998
  • Geothermal Energy Resources Act 2005
  • Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990

This is an Authorised Officer position and to be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate ability to regulate and undertake compliance-related action as well as experience of the petroleum industry or a similar regulated industry.  If you possess knowledge of land rehabilitition standards, principles and practices applying to petroleum and other earth resources industies along with demonstrated analytical skills, then this could be the position for you.
