Senior Manager, Policy and Coordination

  • $145,010 - $165,983 (Plus Superannuation)

The position of Senior Manager, Policy and Coordination forms a part of the Precinct Planning & Coordination branch within the Jobs, Innovation and Business Engagement Group. The Precinct Planning and Coordination Branch leads the development of vibrant, distinctive and innovative precincts and National Employment and Innovation Clusters (NEICs).  The Branch has a vital role in supporting Victoria's COVID-19 economic recovery efforts through place-based delivery.

The Senior Manager, Policy and Coordination will be responsible for leading a high-quality team to respond to diverse policy, governance and coordination tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The Senior Manager, Policy and Coordination will be responsible for: identifying and implementing cross-precinct policy approaches to ensure precincts are consistent with Victorian Government policies and initiatives; identifying and implementing best practice with respect to coordination (including ministerial, Cabinet and parliamentary requests) and governance across all Business Precincts; and supporting effective stakeholder engagement and communications across the branch's place-based teams.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Lead a high-performing and responsive team committed to continuous improvement that provides policy, communications and engagement, and coordination support to place-based precinct teams and the executive leadership group.
  • Provide high quality policy advice on a wide variety of issues, including governance, land use and planning policy, economic policy and industry policy.
  • Manage advanced policy research and analysis, including investigating and critically analysing issues and opportunities relating to the development and implementation of policy frameworks.
  • Initiate and lead engagement and work collaboratively across government to support Victoria's economic recovery from Covid-19 and drive change across a wide range of policy areas.
  • Prepare advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders that conveys complex concepts and information on precinct policy and coordination in an appropriate format and appropriate manner.
