An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Manager of Procurement Systems and Data within our Strategic Sourcing group in the Department of Treasury and Finance.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Manager of Procurement Systems and Data within our Strategic Sourcing (SS) group in the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).   The SS group provides whole of government procurement solutions to achieve the best value for the Victorian Government.

DTF provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies.  We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.


About the role

We require a fixed term VPS 6 Senior Manager of Procurement Systems and Data, for up to 12 months. The key accountabilities are:

  • Lead, plan and manage the procurement data analytics functions and rollout of the supplier portal program
  • Lead and manage the staff working in the team
  • Oversee the management of key contracts with external parties to deliver system and data-related services
  • Plan and deliver milestones for the work programs
  • Oversee liaison with stakeholders from central agencies, departments and other Victorian agencies as well as suppliers and technology providers in order to understand the full range of requirements, and ensure comprehensive and timely communication
  • Manage the budget for the team
  • Manage the preparation of briefs, memoranda, reports and speaking notes as required for senior stakeholders in related procurement reform issues


To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Recognised leader and manager with subject matter expertise in procurement and/or data related disciplines and technologies
  • Ability to provide strategic thinking leadership for staff and stakeholders, as well as the ability to articulate the vision and strategic goals for others
  • Demonstrated experience in project and contract management
  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to prepare insightful and persuasive reports, briefings and submissions through an ability to communicate complex issues appropriate to the audience
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain highly productive relationships with stakeholders at a range of levels of seniority
  • Well-developed organisation skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload and competing priorities
