About the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct

Parkville is a 136-bed youth justice facility located in the inner northern Melbourne suburb of Parkville. It is easily accessible through various transport routes including trains and buses.

The facility accommodates boys, young men, girls and young women aged 10-17 years on remand and when sentenced. The facility also accommodates young people on the Dual Track system, aged 18 -21 years old.

Parkville is a safe and secure place where young people can work on getting their lives back on track, supported by evidence-based programs and services. We want young people to return home with the confidence that they can thrive in their own communities.

The opportunity

  • VPS Grade 6.2 role, earning $152,773 - $174,869 per year plus super. 
  • Lead two multi-disciplinary teams including Clinicians, Behaviour Support Specialists and Youth Engagement Officers.
  • Oversee the delivery of rehabilitation services, comprising evidence-based criminogenic, non-criminogenic programs and individual behaviour management interventions.
  • Identify emerging issues and trends to deliver effective rehabilitative interventions and behaviour management strategies for young people.

The Senior Manager, Rehabilitation and Outcomes reports directly to the Director of Operations, Parkville. This position is responsible for the delivery of rehabilitation services and oversight of behaviour support services to manage complex behaviours in custody and support young people's reintegration back into the community and reduce their risk of reoffending.

To be successful in this role, you will have leadership and stakeholder management qualities with a focus on innovative service delivery and the acumen to build capability across your teams. 

It is also desirable that you have general registration as a Psychologist or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Work, or registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. 

A full driver's licence is required due to the need to be able to work flexibly across both custodial precincts, based on operational requirements.

A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment. Currency of the WWCC will need to be maintained for the period of employment.
