What You Will Be Doing

Positions at this level utilise advanced clinical knowledge and skills to provide quality mental health services within their professional scope of practice. You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document comprehensive care within the area in accordance with evidence based best practice standards and Peninsula Health Values. You will undertake mental state, social and physical assessments that lead to recommendations for treatment, and provide education regarding prescribed medications, administer (Nursing) and assess effects of same.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
• Qualified Registered Nurse, Social Worker, OT or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration (RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program).
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers.
• Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, the National Standards for the Mental Health Workforce 2002 and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP.
• Communicates well with and relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
• Working knowledge of discipline specific legislation relevant to clinical practice
• Takes responsibility for own actions and is proactive and self-starting.
• Extensive experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care.

*Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
