Senior Occupational Therapist 

Mental Health Key Clinician Homeless Team

  • Part-Time OT position - Working 72 hours per fortnight
  • Based in Melbourne CBD - Mental Health Homeless Team
  • Fantastic opportunity to provide Community Assertive Outreach services within the Inner West Area Mental Health Service (IWAMHS)

  • We apply an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model of care, which is characterized by lower caseloads, community-based treatment, a team based approach and high intensity of care.
  • As an experienced Occupational Therapist, you will provide a strengths-based and  personalised model of care to increase consumers well-being and functioning.

Your new role:

  • Provide support, leadership, oversight from and Occupational Therapy perspective and contribute to the multi-disciplinary team
  • Support and guide our Entry Level Program Occupational Therapist in the team
  • Develop and apply Occupational Therapy interventions suitable for our consumer cohort that will assist with their recovery and apply to personalising NDIS supports and thorough assessments
  • Scope for involvement in facilitating group program interventions relevant to building daily function, capacity and wellbeing through increased levels of personalised participation

About you:

  • Interested in working with homeless consumers directly in the community via assertive outreach
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Hold current registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated expertise relating to Occupational Therapy specific work
