About the Role


The Grade 3 Gerontology Physiotherapist is responsible for working within the physiotherapy department and leading delegated responsibilities to provide best practice patient care, achieve maximal operational effectiveness, develop organisational competencies, and create strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health. The Grade 3 Gerontology Physiotherapist holds specialist clinical knowledge in the field of Gerontology Physiotherapy.


You will provide a high standard of assessment, treatment and coordination of services to patients, to facilitate safe, effective, person centred care.


You will assist with planning, development, quality and evaluation of evidence based physiotherapy services across the subacute sector.  You will lead and supervise a team of physiotherapists and allied health assistants.


You will assist with development, implementation and re-evaluation of protocols, practices and patient care both within the hospital/community rehabilitation service and wider field.


These positions are based within the Kingston Centre, Cheltenham, however travel to any of the Monash Health sites will be required.



  • Provision of evidence based physiotherapy in a geriatric evaluation and management setting

  • Supervision and leadership of physiotherapists and allied health assistants

About You


You are an experienced and passionate physiotherapists with a desire to ensure evidence based, patient centred care is delivered.  You will enjoy working in a team setting with other disciplines as well as within the physiotherapy department as well as support junior staff.  You will seek opportunities for innovation and foster a culture of excellence.


What you need:



  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or recognised equivalent degree

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Physiotherapy Board of Australia (practicing, no restrictions)

  • Working towards, or completion, of relevant post graduate study - desired

  • Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, including involvement in Special Interest Groups - Desired.
