The vacancies sit within Fairer Victoria. Fairer Victoria brings together the Office of Women, Youth Affairs, Veterans, Multicultural Affairs and Equality portfolios, with a view to elevating consideration of these key groups to the centre of government.

The Office for Women supports the Minister for Women and Minister for Prevention of Family Violence.  Office for Women is responsible for leading implementation of Free from Violence: Victoria's Strategy for prevention of family violence and other forms of violence against women and Safe and Strong: Victoria's first Gender Equality Strategy.

The roles require proactive self-starters with good understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex and sensitive environment. The roles require high levels of adaptability and a desire to contribute to a professional and supportive work environment. Knowledge of public health, primary prevention, and/or social policy, particularly gender equality, will be highly desirable.  

As the position will have a lead role in preparing quality and timely Ministerial products - including correspondence, briefings and at times, cabinet submissions - capability in these areas will also be highly regarded.

The successful candidates will demonstrate strong policy, analytical and communication skills coupled with an ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment. Ideally, you will also have experience in program management and monitoring. Experience in program evaluation will also be considered favourably.
