THE ROLE

Senior Project Officer

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for corporate, administrative and communication support for the Office of the Deputy Secretary including review and allocation of requests across the Division, quality assurance, adherence to timelines, and specialist written and verbal advice and support both within the Division and across the Department.

Working in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, the role will also have the responsibility to offer integrated communication support to the Division, in line with the strategic priorities, initiatives and projects. It will coordinate relevant information between divisions to ensure consistency and innovation are applied to integrated communication and engagement strategies and deliver end to end communication materials and website management.

The role requires strong communication skills and demonstrated experience of working with the Aboriginal community, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and across the Victorian Public Service and sector support services.

The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Review, manage and monitor the administrative quality control processes for reporting, correspondence and briefings on complex policy and operational issues to ensure accuracy, relevance and timeliness.
  • Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and display sound judgment when managing with sensitive information and issues to provide quality and relevant information in line with government policies.
