Senior Research Coordinator - Gynaecology Research Centre

  • 1 to 2 days per week (negotiable) for 12 months

  • Fixed Term Position, potential for extension dependant on available funding

The Women’s Gynaecology Research Centre (GRC) provides evidence-based research into gynaecological and menopausal services and treatments for women. As a tertiary provider of these services, we are committed to contributing to research, education and innovation within our field, with a focus on developing new therapeutic treatment options. We collaborate with key stakeholders such as the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the University of Melbourne, other independent research organisations and industry groups. Research Coordinators, Research Clinicians and Research Assistants are an important part of the multidisciplinary team that provide these services.

Your contribution  

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to coordinate the clinical data and research needs of the Gynaecology Research Centre.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Ensuring eligibility criteria are met and consent patients as required

  • Randomising and enrolling patients consented to research projects

  • Preparing study schedules populating timelines for visits and data collection

  • Ensuring timely completion of clinical research forms and data entry as required.

  • Assisting with reporting adverse events within required time frame in accordance with protocol and hospital policy

  • Performing study procedures within scope of clinical practice

 About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Bachelor of Science or a relevant tertiary qualification in a health science discipline.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in clinical research work and in research administration and support as well as an understanding of the principles and methods of research, in particular adhering to study protocols.

  • Demonstrated understanding of International Conference of Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) knowledge of NHMRC National statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans, privacy laws, regulatory and ethical issues in clinical research

  • Demonstrated strong organisational, planning and coordination skills and ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and judgement when resolving operational issues

  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of personnel in the health and university sectors.

  • Strong computer and data skills including high level of competency with Microsoft Office Suite and software packages, including Office, Word, Excel, Power point, Publisher, and Endnote.

Influenza Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
