The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The Commission is also the regulator for the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. About the opportunity

The Senior Review and Inquiries Officer works as part of the Inquiries and Engagement team to deliver on the Commission's strategic plan as directed. This role involves providing specialist and technical contributions to the work of the team in managing and leading inquiries

In this role you will:

  • Conduct child death, individual and systemic inquiries under the supervision of team leader and manager.
  • Work with other team members on continuous improvement of the inquiry process.
  • Contribute to Commission wide planning process.


As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Exceptional written communication skills and experience in producing complex reports within agreed timeframes
  • An ability to manage a case load of child death inquiries of different sizes and complexity while also assisting on larger systemic inquiry work within agreed timeframes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
