Network Design and Integration works to deliver transport priorities through the development, delivery and maintenance of an integrated pipeline of projects supporting the Major Transport Infrastructure Program, plan Victoria’s rail network, supports Road Safety for Victoria and Freight for Victoria.
Road Safety Victoria is a Division within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for leading the Victorian Government to achieve Zero road fatalities by 2050.

About the Role
This is a Fixed Term, full-time position until 31/12/2026.
The Senior Project Officer is a highly motivated, responsive and valued member of the Road Safety Program Delivery team. The role will support the Road Safety Program Manager in delivering the Medicinal Cannabis Closed Circuit Track Trial, playing a crucial role in advancing road safety initiatives focused on reducing fatalities and serious injuries across our road network.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee project reporting, governance, financial management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of key activities and milestones. The role requires independent judgment to proactively identify and resolve challenges, monitoring project progress, and mitigate risks. The role demands a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in project documentation, reporting, and the execution of all tasks. The ideal applicant will have a track record in developing and delivering successful complex projects in a road safety, public policy, public health or similar field.
You will contribute to the development of comprehensive, evidence-driven road safety policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals. This role involves the drafting of policy briefings to senior management and other government departments on road safety issues related to the Medicincal Cannabis Track Trial.
The role also involves negotiating and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders, including Road Safety Partners, government departments, research partners, and community groups, to achieve successful road safety outcomes. A strong understanding of interdepartmental protocols and political sensitivity is crucial for strengthening stakeholder engagement and building collaborative relationships.
Leveraging your expertise in project delivery, policy and stakeholder engagement, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders to support the delivery of the Medicincal Cannabis Track Trial and other road safety initiatives and projects within the Road safety Program.
