Position Summary:

The Senior Strategic Advisor will work as part of the Performance Strategy and Continuous Improvement team within the COVID-19 Public Health Division to contribute to high-level process improvement and performance optimisation activities.

You will contribute to expert analysis, conceptualisation and evidence-based advice that respond to high-level and broad-reaching policy challenges and issues faced by the Case, Contact and Outbreak Management branch.

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Actively contribute to projects and tasks involving process improvement and performance optimisation in conjunction with Case and Contact Directors.
  • Provide authoritative advice, reasoned contributions and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research.
  • Proactively drive, coordinate and offer contribution to the creation of policies, policy advisory and policy documentation for Case and Contact Directors as appropriate.
  • Develop policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
  • Pro-actively build and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders
  • Maintain strict program governance and project management discipline.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Must have previous operations experience, be able to learn fast and hit the ground running, be highly motivated and comfortable with owning and driving multiple, parallel priorities
