The North East Link Project will deliver the missing link in Melbourne's road network that will finally complete the Metropolitan Ring Road by connecting the M80 to the Eastern Freeway to improve outer north-south links for road freight movement and improve travel time and reliability.

About North East Link

The North East Link Project (NELP) will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network by linking the Eastern Freeway and the M80 Ring Road in Melbourne's north-east. The project includes major upgrades to the Eastern Freeway from Springvale Road including Melbourne's first dedicated busway from Doncaster towards the city. The North East Link will be a safe and efficient freeway connection for up to 135,000 vehicles a day, slashing travel times, getting trucks off local roads, linking key growth areas in the north and south-east and creating thousands of jobs during construction and early operation.

About the opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Project's Land, Planning and Environment team. The Senior Sustainability Advisor will be embedded into the PPP Primary Package as part of a multi-disciplinary project team within the North East Link Project. They will be a champion for sustainability in the primary package working collaboratively with the NELP team and contractors.

The Senior Sustainability Advisor will be responsible for overseeing the application of the project's sustainability objectives and targets within the Primary Package of works at NELP. This includes leading the implementation of the NELP sustainability policy, developing sustainability objectives and targets for NELP and working with the PPP Delivery team to achieve target sustainability ratings.

About you:

You are a proactive and driven individual with sound knowledge on substantiality, preferably within major infrastructure projects and in the achievement of ISCA, GBCA or similar sustainability performance rating schemes. In addition, you are:

  • Passionate about all aspects of sustainability and driven to implement change
  • Have an affinity for developing, maintaining and influencing relationships with varied stakeholders in a deadline driven, complex environment
  • Are an exceptional communicator with ability to prepare timely, clear and concise reports and correspondence
