What you will be doing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Consultant (Engineer) to design, implement, and maintain our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology.

Reporting directly to the Security and Cloud Engineering Manager, this role will be responsible for:

  • Leading the technical contribution of VEC's Cloud strategic plan, and promoting an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ensuring all infrastructure is monitored and managed within VEC's architectural and governance frameworks
  • Managing and maintaining the greater Election Network, per business requirements within the defined schedule for each electoral cycle.
  • Managing varying expectations of diverse stakeholder groups

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience in managing cloud-based technologies and how to apply best practice methodologies to implementing a secure and resilient cloud environment with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 platform
  • Demonstrated knowledge in administering a Microsoft Enterprise network and the associated technologies. (AD, ADFS, DFS, IIS, PKI, DNS, Hyper-V, SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience in administering edge security appliances such as Firewalls, WAFs, Applications Gateways, and Public DNS infrastructure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills partnered with effective communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced business environment
