About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Sonographer to join our enthusiastic Medical Imaging team at Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS). New Graduate Sonographers are encouraged to apply.  You will be an integral member of the Medical Imaging Department, providing high quality ultrasound services to the South Gippsland community and report directly to the Medical Imaging Manager.

The Medical Imaging Department is situated over two campuses and provides CT, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography, and bone densitometry at Leongatha. A satellite department is located at Korumburra and provides X-ray and ultrasound services.

This role provides you with the opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a friendly and supportive environment. Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the education of Student Sonographers.  A full range of ultrasound examinations are performed including 3D obstetrics and gynaecology, liver elastography, vascular ultrasound, MSK ultrasound and interventional procedures. The equipment is state-of-the-art and includes a new Philips Epiq Elite and two Canon Aplio 500 machines.

 Applicants must have:

• A Degree or Diploma in Ultrasonography and current registration with the ASAR.

Desirable:

• Radiographer background desirable but not essential.
• Experience in Obstetrics and Nuchal translucency will be highly regarded.

New Graduate Sonographers are encouraged to apply as ongoing training and upskilling will be provided.
