 About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Clinician to work at Eastern Health CYMHS and contribute to an enhanced mental health service for children and youth with a serious mental health illness (aged 0 – 12 years) and their families.


The Specialist Child Team is a community team for the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), who specialise in working with children 0-12 and their families.  The Specialist Child Team have a particular remit on working to improve the outcomes for infants and children who have experienced trauma or family violence, are in or at risk of entering the child protection system, have an intellectual disability/developmental delay, are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, in addition to experiencing significant behavioural or mental health difficulties.


About You


  • Clinical competency in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, clinical diagnosis, diagnostic formulation and multi-modal therapeutic interventions is essential.

  • A significant part of the role is in supporting the junior members of staff through supervision and supporting the team if the Team Leader is absent.

  • If you are successful you will join a skilled, enthusiastic and recovery oriented teams with the opportunity to provide primary and secondary consultations to agencies within the region, participate in individual, parent and family therapy.
