About the role


As the leading public health service in the Eastern Region, we are looking for a dynamic, compassionate and collaborative part time Specialist Pain Medicine Physician to join our Ambulatory Pain Management Service. This is a wonderful opportunity to work within an energetic team of multidisciplinary allied health clinicians experienced in the field of chronic Pain Management. The service aims to provide accessible and acceptable pain management strategies to all clients accessing this service. You will cover two Friday sessions (8:30-16:30) at sites including Peter James Centre (Burwood East), Yarra Ranges Health (Lilydale) or the Angliss Hospital (Upper Ferntree Gully).


About you
To be successful in the role you will have:



  • Qualification(s) as either a specialist in Addiction Medicine, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Anaesthetics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Palliative Care Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, or Rheumatology (holding FAChAM, FRACP, FRACS, FAChPM, FAFRM or equivalent).

  • Relevant clinical experience in the field of pain medicine, in particular chronic pain in a public outpatient setting.

  • Must be registered with the Faculty of Pain Medicine as either a trainee or (preferably) a full Fellow (i.e. FFPMANZCA).

  • Enjoy teamwork and collaborative problem-solving

  • High-level communication skills, both written and oral, to enable development of a good rapport with clients and staff.


You will be required to:



  • Support the delivery of a high quality, accessible and coordinated service to our clients

  • Collaborate and develop good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective staff communication processes are in place

  • Be engaged with teaching of junior medical staff & other clinical staff

  • Be compliant with the FFPM continuing professional development program
