About the role:
This Specialist Senior Educator will be required to manage and lead the development and/or application of a range of education and training programs relating to the Victorian Aboriginal Community including culture, history and current policing issues affecting the community.
The position will be based within People Development Command (PDC), which is responsible for developing the skills, capabilities and confidence for our people to professionally lead and influence the community. We do this by providing training and ongoing programs for police, Protective Security Officers, and Police Custody Officers from their initial training through each level of their career.
This opportunity will require a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and motivation to engage some of our newest members to the organisation. You will be required to deliver in various environments and liaise with various Centres of Learning within People Development Command.
The Specialist Senior Educator will be required to plan, develop, and deliver sessions as required with a focus on system reform and practical changes to laws, policies and education and supports the organisation wide uplift in the delivery of the Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (mandatory).
PDC acknowledges the important and significant work that needs to be done to enable change and requires this role to lead the development and provision of education and training to build greater understanding and capability of recruits.
