Speech Pathologist (Grade 2)

  • Community Health @GV Health, Shepparton

  • Fixed term until 22/01/2021 (maternity leave replacement)

  • 72 hours per fortnight 

We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist with a keen interest in paediatrics to join our established Community Health team. The team works in a modern multipurpose community facility in the Shepparton CBD which has clinic rooms, resources for both paediatric and adult service delivery, and access to fleet cars and other supports to enable the delivery of services in other community settings where required.

In this role you will be:

  • Working with an experienced multi-disciplinary team

  • Responsible for planning, implementing and reviewing Speech Pathology services for predominantly young children

  • Providing individual assessments and therapy blocks, joint sessions with another allied health discipline, and group programs.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Bachelor degree or higher in Speech Pathology from a recognised university/institution and be eligible for registration with Speech Pathology Australia.

  • Experience in the planning and provision of Speech Pathology services to consumers of all ages, and in particular young children and their families.

  • Ability to identify and address local needs and a commitment to delivering care in line with the principles of Community Health, including recognition of the social determinants of health.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team including the ability to create and maintain effective professional relationships with both internal and external service providers. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of community-based consumers and their families/carers.
