About the role
In this small rural team, your role is to coordinate and lead our Speech Pathology Department.
We are committed to placing the client at the centre of care and using evidenced based practice in assessment, treatment and consultancy for people of all ages with communication and swallowing difficulties.
The Speech Pathology department work across a variety of clinical areas including acute, sub-acute, community and aged care. This position is a mix of clinical and non-clinical/management. The Speech Pathology Department has a predominantly paediatric outpatient caseload as well as contributing to acute, sub-acute and aged care services across the three campuses of Western District Health Service and other regional Health Services.
You will participate in regular meetings, conducting supervision for the speech pathology team and reflective learning opportunities. Supervision for the speech pathology manager can be organised externally. You will have opportunities to complete external professional development as well as internal professional development from the speech pathology department and other departments across Primary and Preventative Health.
Career development support is available through the WDHS tiered leadership training program which you will be able to complete in this time. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams within Western District Health Service and with other agencies in Hamilton and the region.

Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
